TURBT
Endoscopic removal of bladder tumours.
Transurethral Resection of Bladder Tumour, or TURBT, is an endoscopic procedure used to diagnose and remove abnormal growths from the urinary bladder. Instruments are passed through the urinary passage, without an external incision. The removed tissue is sent for histopathological examination to determine the type and depth of the tumour. TURBT is an important first step in diagnosing and planning treatment for bladder cancer. Further treatment or surveillance is determined by the final biopsy report.
