Tropical Fevers
Scrub typhus, dengue, malaria, typhoid, chikungunya, leptospirosis — timely evaluation and warning-sign monitoring.
Fever in our region may result from several infections with overlapping symptoms, making timely evaluation important. We assess and manage common tropical illnesses including scrub typhus, dengue, malaria, enteric fever or typhoid, chikungunya and leptospirosis, along with other seasonal and vector-borne infections.
Assessment may include evaluation of fever pattern, rash, body aches, abdominal or respiratory symptoms, exposure history and appropriate laboratory testing. We also monitor for dehydration, falling platelet counts, liver or kidney involvement, breathing difficulty and other warning signs.
Treatment and the need for admission are determined by the suspected infection, illness severity and the patient’s underlying health conditions.
