Infectious Diseases
Acute and persistent infections across organ systems — source identified, antibiotics only when genuinely required.
We evaluate and manage a wide range of acute and persistent infections affecting different organ systems. These include bacterial and viral fevers, urinary tract infections, skin and soft-tissue infections, gastrointestinal infections, respiratory infections and selected recurrent or unexplained infections.
Care involves identifying the likely source, choosing appropriate investigations and deciding whether antimicrobial treatment is genuinely required. When antibiotics are indicated, they are selected according to the suspected organism, severity, patient factors and available culture results.
We also assess warning signs such as sepsis, dehydration, low oxygen levels or organ involvement and determine whether outpatient care, hospital admission or specialist consultation is necessary.
